After engaging in over a thousand studio sessions involving various producers, managers, industry figures, and numerous record labels, Yasmina ultimately discovered her distinctive voice. And after forming her own team, she made the choice to become an independent artist.
Her music draws inspiration from her African and Scandinavian heritage. Growing up in a family rich with rhythm, and melodies, and a household that was filled with instruments hanging on the walls like artwork, music has always been close to her heart and her body and that clearly comes out in her music, voice, and calm presence.
Her mother was a guitarist, and her father played the Amazigh (North African) drums. With family members spanning the globe, it’s evident that she has been influenced by diverse cultures, and her music beautifully encapsulates her mixed heritage.
YASMINA KAÏNA uses her songs as a form of therapy, hoping that her listeners might find solace or relatability within them.
